LEONICS  has entered the Asian region market with the pilot project of LEONICS  Hybrid Minigrid System, the first hybrid power system of Republic of Maldives

LEONICS, the leader of renewable energy products and systems with the standard certifications ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001, has entered the renewable energy Asian region market with LEONICS Hybrid Minigrid System, which was agreed by Republic of Maldives to design and intall the pilot project of PV – WT – DG – Inverter Hybrid System for Remote Area Power System (Island Electrification) at Uligam Island, Raimandhoo Island and Kondey Island

The systems have been installed at Uligam Island and Raimandhoo Island of Republic of Maldives are 45 kWp LEONICS Hybrid Minigrid System and the system has been installed at Kondey Island of Republic of Maldives is 25 kWp LEONICS Hybrid Minigrid System. These systems consist of PV Array, Wind Turbine, Diesel Generator, Battery, LEONICS Three phase Bidirectional Dual Mode Inverter, DEB (Dynamic Energy Balance) which is the device for protecting the battery from over charging, and Hybrid System Data Monitoring and Operation Controller which helps the user to analize the system operation. Moreover, this system can be connected to GSM cellular network to transmit data to the Monitoring and Operation Control Center at Bangkok, Thailand to monitor and control the system operation. The 3 installed systems at 3 islands of Republic of Maldives are the electricity generation systems, which help conserve energy by reducting the use of diesel fuel in generator then the several green energy sources such as PV array and wind turbine are combined with the systems. Furthermore, LEONICS joins the developing the Hybrid Minigrid Systems for more than 100 islands of Republic of Maldives in the future.
