| The FRONIUS IG 400 and 500 for systems up to
40 kW. The innovation: up to 15 removable power racks allow
a much higher energy yield and makes the installation easier.
Up to 15 Plug-In Modules for More
Power
The FRONIUS IG 400/500 inverters work with a completely new
system configuration. The electricity is not just converted
by a single power stack but it is the result of the shared
work of the 12 or 15 printed circuit boards - depending on
the output class. The reason: it is well known that the energy
yield rises in the part-load areas if smaller power stacks
are used. Every FRONIUS IG central inverter works thus with
several smaller power stacks, according to the MIX-concept.
This enables the inverter to deliver maximum power continuously.
Easy Installation due to Removable
Racks
The power stacks of the FRONIUS IG central inverter are easily
re-moved like racks (drawers). The only tool required is a
screwdriver. There is a noticeable reduction in weight if
the plug-in power stacks are taken out. This makes it easy
to install.
Moreover, the FRONIUS IG central inverter's ingenious plug-in
system is also suitable for particularly fast and uncomplicated
maintenance: for example, if one power stack fails, this does
not mean that the entire PV system shuts down, as it is usual
with other central inverters. Instead, the remaining racks
take over the work of the one that has failed. This is another
important advantage of the MIX concept.
A partial failure of the inverter only lasts until a replacement
rack arrives. This ensures that the system can continue to
produce electricity and it keeps energy losses to a minimum
level.
Optimum Climate Control due to Innovative
Ventilation System
Fronius has found an intelligent solution regarding the optimum
climate control: as for industrial plants, fresh cool air
is taken from above and transported downwards through the
power stacks. The warm discharged air is transported back
to the outside by way of a pipe at the top. The room can also
be used for other purposes due to the steady temperature.
The most important thing is to assure that the inverter can
work under optimum conditions.
