PV-WT-DG-Inverter Hybrid System for Remote Area Power System (Island Electrification)

LEONICS has designed and installed this system to generate the electricity which combines the energy from PV array, wind turbine and diesel generator for 3 islands of Republic of Maldives i.e. Uligam Island, Raimandhoo Island and Kondey Island.

 

45 kWp LEONICS Hybrid Minigrid System has been installed at Uligam Island of Republic of Maldives. This system consists of 2.64 kWp PV Array, 43.2 kWp Wind Turbine, 48 kW Diesel Generator, 96 kWh Battery, 45 kW LEONICS APOLLO MTP-415F (Three phase Bidirectional Dual Mode Inverter), 20 kW DEB (Dynamic Energy Balance) which is the device for protecting the battery from over charging, and Hybrid System Data Monitoring and Operation Controller which is used to record daily generated energy data and other data in real time, these recorded data help the user to analyze the system operation. Moreover, this system can be connected to GSM cellular network to transmit data to the Monitoring and Operation Control Center at Bangkok, Thailand to monitor and control the system operation.

This system consists of 2.64 kWp PV Array, 32.4 kWp Wind Turbine, 32 kW Diesel Generator, 96 kWh Battery, 45 kW LEONICS APOLLO MTP-415F (Three phase Bidirectional Dual Mode Inverter), 20 kW DEB (Dynamic Energy Balance) and Hybrid System Data Monitoring and Operation Controller.

25 kWp LEONICS Hybrid Minigrid System has been installed at Kondey Island of Republic of Maldives. This system consists of 5.28 kWp PV Array, 10.8 kWp Wind Turbine, 18 kW Diesel Generator, 96 kWh Battery, 25 kW LEONICS APOLLO MTP-413F (Three phase Bidirectional Dual Mode Inverter), 10 kW DEB (Dynamic Energy Balance) and Hybrid System Data Monitoring and Operation Controller.

LEONICS Hybrid Minigrid System is the one of the energy conservation systems, which helps conserve energy by reducing the use of diesel fuel in generator then the green energy is combined with the system to balance the system operation and maximize the system efficiency.



The 3 installed systems at 3 islands of Republic of Maldives are the pilot projects of Republic of Maldives which generate the electricity from several green energy sources i.e. PV array, wind turbine, diesel generator and battery. Furthermore, LEONICS joins the developing the Hybrid Minigrid Systems for more than 100 islands of Republic of Maldives in the future
