Leonics Sun Cool
- Solar Assisted Air Conditioning System
Leonics has designed, installed and set up this system for
maximum solar applications. This system uses heat from the
sun and pass through the process called "Solar Collector",
which evaporative tube collector collects the heat, the heat
pipe heats the liquid flowing through the tube and the hot
water is delivered to store in the storage tank. Then the
hot water is pumped from the storage tank to the absorption
chiller to transfer the heat to the coolant for cooling water.
At the fan cool unit, the cold water is delivered to transfer
the heat for decease the temperature. Within the absorption
chiller, the absorber evolves the heat so the cooling tower
is used to ventilate the high temperature to outside. When
the sunlight is not visible or at night, the backup heater,
which is automatic control is added. If the water temperature
that is supplied to absorption chiller is below the temperature
setting, this added system would start operation and if the
water temperature that is supplied to absorption chiller is
equal the temperature setting, this added system will stop
operation. The suitable water of the water ventilated air
conditioning system come from water softener system, which
help reduces the scales.
The system has been installed and applied at Solar Assisted
Air Conditioning System Demonstration Project for the Testing
Building in Energy Park, School of Renewable Energy Technology,
Naresuan University, Phitsanulok.
