Easy-Mon X Software is UPS monitoring and management software which has been developed out of the need for more sophisticated capabilities from UPS. Easy-Mon X Software is capable to work efficiently on different operating systems.
The key features of Easy-Mon X Software are shown as following

• Report power status and data in form of graphical and numerical display and monitor the power status. The display shows input/output voltage levels, load capability (Load Level), backup power level (Battery Level) and backup time
• Schedule shutdown and restart computer and UPS including UPS self-testing
• Record power events through the Event Log and Data Log and view the history of these events
• Able to select automatically save file command
• Capable to select three computer shutdown modes; Normal Shutdown, Force Shutdown and Hibernate Shutdown

No. Generally, UPSs are designed by manufactures on theirs own protocol. At the same time, Easy-Mon X Software is only developed and designed for LEONICS UPSs, so it cannot be used with other brands of UPS.

• Easy-Mon X Software for Windows: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP
• Easy-Mon X Software for UNIX: Linux (Redhat 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, Madrake 8.0, 8.1, 8.2), HP UNIX and Sun Solaris

It depends on user’s requirement. If your computer is stand-alone PC or you are home PC user, Easy-Mon X Software can monitor and manage your computer efficiently. To extend the UPS efficiency, you can add Easy-Mon X’s Plug-In. Since the system will not be able to use the remote management, a Plug-In called “Easy-Mon Data Viewer” can be installed and no need network connection. And if your computer system is computer network system or you are office user, Easy-Mon X’s Plug-Ins should be added for improving the Easy-Mon X Software functions. There are 4 types of Easy-Mon X’s Plug-Ins:

• Easy-Mon Netview Agent: convert and send information collected by Easy-Mon X Software from UPS through a network via TCP/IP Protocol. This helps the system administrators to view the power events and data through the network, LAN, WAN or Internet remotely.
• Easy-Mon Netview Manager: monitor power events and data of UPS via TCP/IP Protocol over a network. It can monitor up to 256 computers that help the system administrators to check the status of all UPSs conveniently and rapidly from one computer.
• Easy-Mon Alert: alert computers on the network when there is a power problem with the server. This provides the network users a warning of possible server failure and safely save files and shutdown.
• Easy-Mon Data Viewer: graph real-time power data and provide a history of power data. The system administrators can also specify the date and time to examine the recorded data. 

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is the widely used protocol for management the network equipments, including the devices like UPSs. SNMP protocol allows the system administrators to remotely monitor and control devices on the network.
Besides Windows and UNIX, SNMP is compatible to Internet or Intranet  communication via TCP/IP Protocol.
The outstanding features of SNMP are the following

• Monitor and manage UPS devices via network management systems remotely. This helps the system administrators prevent and respond to power crises efficiently.
• Send messages via e-mail to alert the unusual events
• Enable the system administrators to control the shutdown of multiple computers over a TCP/IP network from one UPS

Easy-Mon X Software and its Plug-Ins can be classified into 2 groups as following

• Stand-alone PC or Home PC User with Easy-Mon X Software and/or Easy-Mon Data Viewer Plug-In. No need the network connection.
• Computer Network System or Office User with Easy-Mon X Software and Plug-Ins. TCP/IP Protocol is needed to transmit the data through network system, LAN, WAN or Internet.
