PV-Wind Turbine-Diesel Generator Hybrid System for Remote Island Electrification
at Uligam Island, Raimandhoo Island and Kondey Island, Republic of Maldives
This hybrid energy system has been designed
and installed to generate the electricity which combines the energy from PV modules, wind turbine and diesel generator for remote island electrification at 3 islands of Republic
of Maldives. The systems are installed by Daily Life Renewable Energy Pte. Ltd. and consist of 2.64 kWp PV modules with Leonics APOLLO G-304
(Grid connected Inverter), 24 units of 1.8 kW Skystream 3.5 (total 43.2
kW AC coupling Wind Turbine), 48 kW Diesel Generator, 96 kWh Battery,
45 kW Leonics APOLLO MTP-415F (Three-phase Bidirectional Dual Mode Inverter),
20 kW DEB (Dynamic Energy Balance), Hybrid System Control Command
Unit (HCCU) and Telemonitoring for remote power monitoring and control via www.leonics-moc.com. Furthermore, Leonics will join DLRE in the development
of the hybrid minigrid systems for more than 100 islands of Republic of
Maldives in near future.
