The first complete Wind Turbine-Diesel Generator and Battery Inverter Hybrid System in ASEAN at Doi Monlarn, Prao, Chiangmai

Leonics has been entrusted to install inverters and remote power monitoring system in Wind Turbine-Diesel Generator and Battery Inverter Hybrid System at Doi Monlarn highland agricultural development office under Royal Patronage Project, Phrao, Chiangmai. This system is the first complete hybrid system in ASEAN, which combines 3 energy sources i.e. wind power, diesel generator and battery.
The system’s components are 50 kW wind turbine installed by Prapai Technologies Company Limited and hybrid power system designed and installed by Leonics, which composes of 45 kW APOLLO MTP-415F three-phase bidirectional dual mode hybrid inverter, 10 units of APOLLO GWT-305 grid connected inverter for wind turbine, 10 units of APOLLO WTC-305 wind turbine controller, 2 units of standby inverter and controller, and 50 kVA diesel generator. Moreover, Leonics also provides remote power monitoring to monitor all system data, wind speed and wind direction via website.
The remote power monitoring of this hybrid system operate by the system monitoring unit (SMU) which can transfer the system operation data via GPRS network in order to monitor real-time and historical system data for tracking and analyzing the system operation and efficiency any time at any place via www.leonics-moc.com
The hybrid power system at Doi Monlarn highland agricultural development office under Royal Patronage Project is conducted by Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), Minister of Energy and the project’s purpose is to realize the importance of potential of wind power in upper northern region of Thailand for clean electricity generation that is to provide benefits to the nation in the future.
