The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’s Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, visited the 200 kWp PV-Diesel Generator Hybrid Minigrid System Installation Project for 7 remote area villages in Banggi Island, Kudat, Sabah, Malaysia. This project, the largest hybrid power system in Malaysia, was designed and installed by Leonics, Thai-owned company approved in ASEAN renewable energy products and systems.
The project, under Malaysia’s government control and support, was initiated in 2007. With its performance, Malaysia’s government assures that the hybrid power system for remote area villages is the most appropriate alternative energy source as the generated power is sufficient and suitable for the large rural communities in Malaysia. The significances of this project are to create job opportunities and develop quality of living.
