Leonics, the leader of renewable energy products and systems in ASEAN, has been entrusted by Main Malaysian energy provider – Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to design and install 200 kWp PV – Diesel Generator Hybrid Minigrid System for remote village electrification to 7 villages in Banggi Island, Kudat, Sabah, Malaysia
This project, the largest hybrid solar system in Malaysia, is under Malaysia’s government control and support to generate electricity to all households in Banggi Island all time. With the performance of the hybrid solar system, Malaysia’s government assures that the generated power is sufficient and suitable for the large rural communities in Malaysia. The significance of this project is to create job opportunities and develop quality of living.
The hybrid solar system operates with Hybrid System Control Command Unit (HCCU) and Telemonitoring for remote power monitoring and control, which can display real-time and event log data for tracking and analyzing the system operation. The system operating data will be transferred via GPRS network that allows the authorized customers to access their system for remote power monitoring and control their hybrid energy system any time at any place via www.leonics-moc.com.
