Hybrid Solar System, PV-Wind Turbine-Diesel Generator Hybrid System for Remote Island Electrification Each of three hybrid solar system have been designed and installed to generate electricity using multiple renewalbe energy sources as PV modules and wind turbines and combines diesel generators for remote island electrification. The system were installed by Daily Life Renewable Energy Pte. Ltd. at Uligam island, Raimandoo island and Kondey island in the Republic of Maldives.

The hybrid minigrid system is renewable energy system, which helps conserve energy by reducing the use of diesel fuel in generator and sustainable energy is combined in the system with proper balance in order to maximize the system efficiency.

These three hybrid systems are the pilot projects of Republic of Maldives which generate electricity from multiple renewable energy sources. LEONICS will also be parting with DLRE to develop hybrid mini-grid systems for more than 100 islands in the Republic of Maldives in the near future.

System at Uligam Island: 45 kW Leonics' hybrid minigrid system consists of 2.64 kWp PV Array with Leonics APOLLO G-304 (Grid connect Inverter), 24 units of 1.8 kW Skystream 3.5 (Total 43.2 kW AC Coupling Wind Turbine), 48 kW Diesel Generator, 96 kWh Battery, 45 kW Leonics APOLLO MTP-415F (Three-phase Bidirectional Dual Mode Hybrid Inverter), 20 kW DEB (Dynamic Energy Balance), and Hybrid System Control Command Unit (HCCU).*

: 45 kW Leonics' hybrid minigrid system consists of 2.64 kWp PV Array with Leonics APOLLO G-304 (Grid connect Inverter), 18 units of 1.8 kW Skystream 3.5 (Total 32.4 kW AC Coupling Wind Turbine), 32 kW Diesel Generator, 96 kWh Battery, 45 kW Leonics APOLLO MTP-415F (Three-phase Bidirectional Dual Mode Hybrid Inverter), 20 kW DEB (Dynamic Energy Balance), and Hybrid System Control Command Unit (HCCU).*


System at Kondey Island
: 25 kWp Leonics' hybrid minigrid system consists of 5.28 kWp PV Array with Leonics APOLLO G-304 (Grid connect Inverter), 6 units of 1.8 kW Skystream 3.5 (Total 10.8 kW AC Coupling Wind Turbine), 18 kW Diesel Generator, 96 kWh Battery, 25 kW Leonics APOLLO MTP-413F (Three-phase Bidirectional Dual Mode Inverter), 10 kW DEB (Dynamic Energy Balance), and Hybrid System Control Command Unit (HCCU).*

Hybrid System Control Command Unit (HCCU) is designed for remote control and real-time monitoring the hybrid energy system. HCCU is a part of our telemonitoring service which can monitor real time generated energy from PV, wind turbine or other energy sources such as diesel generator and other system operating data. It also can record and display the event log data. These can help the user to analyze the produced energy, consumed energy and other system operating data for evaluating the system operation for preventive and corrective maintenance. The system operating data will be transferred to Leonics Monitoring and Operation Control Center at Bangkok, Thailand via GSM and GPRS network that allows the authorized customer to access their system for remote power monitoring and control their hybrid energy system any time at any place via www.leonics-moc.com.
