Overview
The SCU (System Control Unit) is a multi-purpose device that takes readings from equipment over RS-485 Modbus, TCP/IP or CAN bus, records them to an SD card and forwards them to a local server or to the Leonics-MoC portal for remote monitoring and control. It doubles as a data logger, a simple microgrid controller and a protocol converter. The MBMS is built specifically for lithium banks: it reads the batteries over RS-485 and monitors and balances up to 39 modules, with balancing selectable by state of charge or by battery voltage. Both units take firmware upgrades, commands and configuration over the air, and both are reached through a web browser.
