The Challenge

A server room has no moment in which a flicker is acceptable, and no window in which to shut down for maintenance.

  • A sag is enough — IT equipment is more sensitive to supply quality than people expect; a sag of a fraction of a second can reboot a server.
  • Maintenance cannot mean downtime — A single UPS means maintenance implies an outage — which a server room cannot absorb.
  • Long backup on diesel costs — Relying on a generator alone for a long outage carries both fuel cost and the risk that it fails to start.

A True Online UPS sits between the utility and the racks, so the IT load never sees the incoming supply. A Modular PCS and BESS extend the ride-through beyond the UPS battery.
